I have MD3200 + MD1200 giving degraded warning on 1 of the virtual disk. previously there is a failed HDD, after we replace the faulty HDD and recontruct the virtual disk. the reconstruct was successfully comlplete but the degraded warning is still there.

I have a MD3260 and associated MD3060e fully populated with 120 physical discs. I currently have a disk pool configured with 88 physical disks and a 4 disk preservation capacity. When I attempt to add even a single unused physical disk I get the error
Error 749 - The operation cannot complete because the disk pool limit would be exceeded.
Which is odd as
"Each disk pool must have a minimum of eleven physical disks. Although there is no limit on the maximum number of physical disks that can comprise a disk pool, the disk pool cannot contain more physical disks than the maximum limit for each storage array."
Where is this limit coming from?

i have HP DL380 G9 server, i am running VMware EXSI 6.0 on it, i have recently purchased DELL MD3420 series Storage Array, i have configured the necessary Disk Group and then attach the same Disk group to a Host, on the server end i installed HP HBA H241 12Gb SAS Card to connect to DELL MD3420 series Storage Array but still i am unable to recognize any storage LUNS.

Hello. Will the Dell 0XM768 Perc 5E PCI-Express SAS RAID Controller Card work with an MD3000? I've got it connected (and believe that I see the HBA host port) but it won't see the drives. I've been reading that the PERC card won't work but this does state it's for SAS.

Is it possible to connect MD1400 to MD3420? It makes sense as both use 12Gbps SAS. Unfortunately at the time when we have bought our 3420 there was no 12Gbps SAS expansion modules available so we have had to use MD3420 plus one MD1200. Now we need to expand our storage.
by mistake the power of the storage ( PowerVault MD1000 ) was turned off while the server which the storage connected to is running , after that turned off the server , and turned on the storge firs then turned on the server. the big problem is all HDD of the raid became foreign and i cannot access to my data.. what can i do in this case ??

I have a MD3200i configured as raid 5 with two controllers connected to a Dell switch (the Dell switch is used for connecting to the Vmhosts and MD3200). Last night, around midnight I received an error stating the it is no longer is on the preferred path, and five minutes later it switched back to the preferred path. I would like to know why it would have switched, as I don't see anything that may have caused the issue. I have the zipped bundle contained in the email, but it exceeds the 1 MB compressed (its ~2 MB), so I only included the text files.

I purchased a Dell Powervault LTO6 external tape drive which will be used on windows server 2012 R12. But we are very dissappointed that we can not find any vendor free LTFS software for this device. Actually IBM says that LTFS SDE version supports Dell LTO's but we can not succeeded. How can we start using Dell LTO6 on LTFS format?

Does the MD3000 have an http interface page or ssh? Do you have to use the MSDM to connect to the out-of-band management? Is serial the only other option? Thanks.
I have a 6-7 year old m3000i with a failed controller (power outage and it never came back). The win 2008 hosts can no longer access the MD3000i. I assumed that I could access data with just one controller. I can ping the management port but not any of the iscsi ports on the remaining controller.
I don't want to put any more time/money into this out of warranty SAN. I have a brand new R730 that I can dump all of this data to.
Is there anyway to get the MD3000i to run from one controller until I can get the data off?

I have an MD3200 with an attached MD1220. Current firmware is 07.80.62.60. I'm attempting to update it to 08_20_18_60. I downloaded and installed the MDSM version 10.80.G6.61, but when I attempt to download the firmware, it's complaining that the firmware isn't compatible with that version of the MDSM.
What am I doing wrong?
