Is it possible to connect MD1400 to MD3420? It makes sense as both use 12Gbps SAS. Unfortunately at the time when we have bought our 3420 there was no 12Gbps SAS expansion modules available so we have had to use MD3420 plus one MD1200. Now we need to expand our storage.

MD3200i - Multipath Drivers
Hi,
We have an MD3200i dual controller.
Firmware 07.84.44.60
Resource DVD 4.1.2.29 = MDSM 10.84.G6.44
I want to connect a LUN using Multipath IO WS2012R2, installing Multipath drivers from Md32 Series Resource DVD.
My question is:
Multipath drivers from Resource DVD 4.1.2.29 supports WS2012R2 ?
Is there compatibility issues if i install Multipath drivers in the WS2012R2 host using the last resource DVD 6.4.0.5 with our actual firmware, or we must update firmware?
Thanks,

I Have the problem with a MD3200i, we have tried to replace all the hard drives and now the Both controllers are in LockDown mode

Reset ML6000 Admin Password
Hi, is there any way to reset a PowerVault ML6000 admin password? I should have created a new admin account and password before resetting the admin password. Now I can't login with the web client. I have tried the default admin password which is password but it doesn't work.

MD3200- Degraded Physical Disk Channel and SAS port degraded errors
Our nonprofit was recently donated a MD3200 dual controller SAS array for our volunteer fire department and veteran group programs.
I was able to upgrade all firmware and NVSRAM to the newest version 08.20.18.60 on both controllers.
We have attached the SAN to 1 of our ESXI 6.0 hosts and created a raid 6 pool of 7 1TB SAS drives.
We assigned the mapping using Controller 0 Port 1 and Controller 1 Port1 for testing. Both light up and show up in ESXI.
The "Recovery Guru" is identifying several errors:

We would appreciate any input.

Any explanation for this? I thought SSD were supported.
Disaster Recovery Planning MD3220 Storage
I am looking for a comprehensive procedure on how to setup a new MD3220 Storage array to be exactly like the array it would replace during a disaster recovery. I see there are ways to save the current array configuration but it warns not to use this method for disaster recovery.

MD3000i controller has failed
hello, I need to buy a new iSCSI controller for a PowerVault MD300i. You can be purchased directly from Dell? you may request the intervention of a technician onsite Dell or an authorized partner? What channel should I use?
MD1200
Hi All,
Hopefully someone will be able to help, we have a dell R710 and R810 each are connected to seperate MD1200 SANs.
due to the location of the servers and sans the aircon has no power backup as a result we have setup safe shutdown for the r710 and r810 if the power goes off or the temperature goes up high should power fail.
We have tested this fine, my concern is around the sans they have no front end to configure anything against as are connected using direct SAS cables.
I have read the tech guide and i can see it has a thermal shutdown in the sans which cut out the sans when they reach 35 degrees but this does seem high.
the servers are enclosed in a cabinet which is fully enclosed with aircon bolted to the side (due to the nature of the location in a listed building we cannot add normal aircon units).
The battery will keep going for a good 30 minutes so concerned that the sans will just keep heating up to the point of cutting out with the thermal cut out.
Do the sans have the ability to shut off when the header server they are connected to power down - i.e. they dont get a signal from a host in 5 minutes and switch off.
long shot I know.
Anyone have any experience of thermal issues with these sans and the repercussions of the sans running hot.
cheers
Lee
Problem Modular disk Storage manager
Hi everyone.
I have a problem to configure the modular disk storage manager, when i go to manage storage array i got this message:
The MD storage managment software (version 10.84.g6.25) you are attempting to use is not compatible with the firmware on the raid controller modules in storage array.....
Raid controller module firmware version: 08.20.05.60
Raid controller module appware version 08.20.05.60
Device API version required: devmgr.v1120api13,Manager
I tried to install different version of storage manager (from version of 2011).
I have no idea what version must be installed.
Can you help me?
Thanks
Marcello
can i manage storage with one raid controller down??

MD3600f imported garbage disk info into DBM
We have many MD3600f that have same disk group name.
They are all separate systems.
I inserted a disk from a different MD3600f into another MD3600f without clearing disk's configurations as a replacement for a failed disk.
Right after the disk was inserted, MD3600f started rebuilding without asking anything and imported disk data that was stored in the replacement disk.
And it raised "Need attention alarm" as below.
It also shows garbage disk data from another MD3600f in the profile as below.
How can I remove those garbage data and remove the alert messages without stopping the system?
This system is in production and we not able to stop the service.
Please help.

PV124T bar-code reader not reading labels on all tapes
I've acquired a PV124T fitted with a LTO3 SCSI drive and single (left hand) magazine. I loaded 5 new HP LTO3 tapes with labels attached into the magazine but on running the inventory, the bar-code reader reports no or bad label for 3 of the tapes. The labels look fine to me (they are new HP labels that have been kept flat in their original packaging in a dark cupboard and the barcodes on two of the tapes are readable.
Before I try swapping tapes with ones from a PV132T, etc could this problem be due to a dirty scanner lens or lamp and if so, where is this located so that I can clean it?
