MD3620i - 10Gbits controllers on a 1Gbits link?

Hi,

I was wondering if setting my controllers to 10Gbits and having them plugged into 1 Gbits switches will work? Will the link negotiate to 1Gbits or will it fail entirely? The manual does not specify.
