I have an NX3000 with a PERC 6/i running in Raid 5.
Virtual Disk 1 is 4 drives:
0:0:2 Dell ST1000NM0033-9ZM173
0:0:3 Dell ST31000340NS
1:0:4 Dell ST31000340NS
1:0:5 Dell ST31000340NS
The problem is with 1:0:5 drive. It now shows a "Non-Critical" warning with a state of "Foreign".
Looking at the logs, I see several entries with "Controller event log: Predictive failure: PD 05(e0x20/s5): Controller 0 (PERC 6/i Integrated)"
When I look at the Storage > Virtual Disk 1, I only see 0:0:2, 0:0:3 and 1:0:4, but I don't see 1:0:5.
What steps should I take?
If I replace the drive, can I replace with any drive and any size? Or do I need to replace with with same or equivalent model? I believe we had a drive failure a year or two ago and put the Dell ST1000NM0033-9ZM173 in place of the original Dell ST31000340NS.
Ultimately, I would love to expand the storage capability of the NAS, as I'm running about 90% capacity with 3 Gigs. What steps could I take to do that and which drive models?
