I'm using a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with a MD1000....last week one of the physical drives failed and I had to wait a few days a for a replacement (and a few spares for the future) to come in. To the best of my knowledge this was to be a simple hot swap.
I have pulled the failed drive, waited about 10 mins, replaced it with the new one, and the system recognizes it. However, the drive light is on (solid green) and in the Openmange Server Admin under the list of Physical Disks it's state is labeled as 'Ready'. In the drop down menu in that location, there is no option to make it 'Online'
My options are 'Blink', 'Unblink', 'Assign Global Hot Spare', and 'Clear...'
I'm obviously missing something. The manual doesn't seem to cover this and Dell Support couldn't help since I'm out of warranty. Anyone else have experience with these units and the proper way to replace a physical drive?
