I have an MD3000 with two MD1000's attached to it. One of the drives in the MD1000 failed and it automatically switched over to the hot-spare. I removed the failed disk and the unit saw the replacement disk at which point I then assigned it to be the new hot-spare. So far, so good. A few minutes later I received a message referencing the newly installed disk with the following message:
Physical Disk - Loss of Path Redundancy
With the following details:
Storage array: MD3000 Component reporting problem: Physical Disk in slot 5 Status: Optimal Location: Expansion enclosure 1 Component requiring service: 5 Service action (removal) allowed: No Service action LED on component: No Working channel: 0
Any thoughts? We are in the process of moving to a more modern storage array but I'm a little worried right now.
Thank you - Scott
